[Admpub] El pacte M$ - Gene és això

A banda d'allò que diu la premsa, d'altres portals expliquen més
detalladament que, allò que està fent M$ a Catalunya, ho ha fet en
d'altres regions que aposten per GNU/Linux.

The routine looks awfully familiar:



    * Country/region listens to citizens’ desire and heralds a migration to GNU/Linux

    * Microsoft spots this country/region which migrates to GNU/Linux

    * Microsoft’s leaders make quiet visits to the country/region

    * Microsoft announces a bargain new deal that’s shrouded with secrecy and the migration to GNU/Linux is ended

    * In some case, those who advocated GNU/Linux lose their job and/or get smeared



We saw this in many places before, with personal involvements from Bill
Gates and even Steve Ballmer, who had eggs thrown at him for it (the
picture on the right was taken seconds afterwards).



Orlando Ayala is another executive chief who embarks on such
anti-GNU/Linux crusades and in order to understand how it all works,
one ought to learn about Microsoft’s EDGI, which is pretty much an
anti-GNU/Linux programme. Anti-trust action exposed its internals, but
it was settled too quickly to actually tackle the issue:

Some months ago we discussed Microsoft’s illegal deals which exclude
competition at government level and it’s unfortunate to find that
Microsoft may have just done this in Catalonia as well."

competition at government level and it’s unfortunate to find that
Microsoft may have just done this in Catalonia as well.



Needless to say, Catalonia pays for all the hardware and Microsoft
offers the ‘privilege’ of not using GNU/Linux, i.e. Catalonia is
allowed to make copies of Windows, which cannot be owned anyway (just
licensed until the kids graduate).



Residents of Catalonia should be up and arms. They can demand to see
the details of what Microsoft did to take away their children’s’
freedom, i.e. turn them into Microsoft clients at a young age, even
with the government’s assistance.



If you do not handle a thug by detaining it, then it will carry on
roaming the streets doing more of the same. This really ought to
require investigation because it’s a repeated offence."

Hi ha una entrevista amb Ballmer:



"Hace unos minutos, ha firmado un acuerdo de colaboración en
proyectos educativos con la Generalitat de Catalunya. ¿Cómo lo valora?
¿Es una experiencia extensible? 



Lo que hemos firmado con
el presidente Montilla es el inicio de un ensayo muy importante, no
sólo para Catalunya sino también para Microsoft, y por supuesto nos
gustaría que pudiera extenderse y reproducirse. El reto no carece de
complejidad, pero hay que afrontarlo, porque la educación es lo más
valioso para el desarrollo de una sociedad y porque las tecnologías de
la información (TI) son un instrumento para mejorar la calidad de la
educación. Apreciamos sinceramente el entusiasmo que pone la
Generalitat en esta iniciativa. 



Pero la educación no es un área de negocio importante para Microsoft. ¿Debería serlo? 



Es
verdad que no es una de nuestras primeras fuentes de ingresos, pero
esto no significa que no sea importante para Microsoft desde el punto
de vista económico. Tomemos como ejemplo este proyecto en Catalunya: la
clave de nuestro interés no es el negocio, sino lo que aprenderemos al
trabajar al lado de los educadores. A ellos y a nosotros nos servirá
para desarrollar herramientas que serán útiles para la formación de los
jóvenes que en el futuro van a trabajar con ese bien precioso que es la
información."






Jo ho sento molt però no em dóna la gana de fer de camell dels
productes de M$. Clar que l'educació no és un àrea de negoci, de fet
els "camells" comencen "regalant" i acaben fent pagar. De fet, d'algun
lloc s'han de treure els 12 M Eur. compromesos pel CTTI. Les llicències
de windows corporatives no són de la Generalitat, són en concepte de
lloguer. 



Quin "chollo" Sr. Ballmer.
