Just to make this public:

http://hg.mozilla.org/mozilla-central/rev/955d077e768f just landed, changing the variable format in those strings to be #1 like in all the other plural strings. It used %S before, but in a really incompatible way.

Please change your code to use #1.

I expect to issue warnings in the upcoming version of compare-locales for this.

%S will continue to work for a while at least.

The add-on strings may not support %S, and yet might still land for 1.5, so when they come in, please be cautious when migrating your fx strings to the sync add-on.
