No ho tinc tan clar. En anglès fan una distinció entre "deprecated" i
"obsolete". Per exemple, al llibre «Unicode explained», de l'editorial
o'Reilly, diuen:
«A deprecated character is a character that has been included in Unicode
but declared as deprecated in the Unicode standard. This indicates a
strong recommendation that the character not be used.
[...] In may other standards, the term "deprecated" contains a warning
that deprecated constructs may, and probably will, be removed from
future versions of the standard».

«An obsolete character is a character that is not used in new texts
anymore but has been included into Unicode due to its historical usage.
Obsolete characters are not deprecated, as a rule. It is quite
appropriate to use an obsolete character when writing text that
discusses old texts that contain the character».
Al glossari del Wordpress [2] també fan aquesta distinció:
«Deprecated functions or template tags are no longer supported, and will
soon be obsolete».
"Deprecation" a la Wikipedia [3]:
«In computer software or authoring programs standards and documentation,
the term deprecation is applied to software features that are superseded
and should be avoided».
Penso que val la pena de mantenir aquesta distinció. Potser
"desaconsellat" seria una traducció més acurada de "deprecated" i
"obsolet" o "en desús", d'"obsolete" (tot i que, en algun context
concret, pot ser que s'escaigui més traduir "deprecated" per "obsolet").

D'acord en descartar "obsolet" per les raons que indiques.<BR>
Ara bé, jo m'inclinaria per "en desús".<BR>
Perquè no "desaconsellat"? Doncs perquè realment t'està dient que "no és recomanable que ho utilitzis" *però* no n'indica el motiu pel qual se'n desaconsella l'ús. En canvi, "en desús" queda clar la connotació que és perquè s'està deixant de fer servir.<BR>

Sí, tens raó. M'he oblidat de dir que, segons aquest raonament, la proposta del Termcat (desfasat) també funciona. "En desús" també em sembla bé, però potser "desfasat" tindria més acceptació (o no, no ho sé).<BR>
