Europe. The IDABC OSOR project is a pan-European information<br>
platform on Free/Libre/Open Source software in the public sector,<br>
and is intended to promote and spread the use of best practices in<br>
Europe. It aims to provide a comprehensive overview of<br>
Free/Libre/Open Source Software policies and activities in the<br>
public sector, especially in current and future EU Member States.<br>
This service will keep you up-to-date with the latest FLOSS<br>

CAMSS Info Day<br>
<br>
A special event on CAMSS will take place on 28 May 2008, in Brussels.<br>
CAMSS, an initiative of the European Commission's IDABC programme, aims at<br>
initiating, supporting and coordinating the collaboration between volunteer<br>
Member States in the definition of a "Common Assessment Method for<br>
Standards and Specifications" and sharing of the assessment study results<br>
for the development of eGovernment services.<br>
<br>
The event will focus on the presentation of CAMSS and its achievements,<br>
and will be open to discussion with the stakeholders.<br>

IDABC Event - launch of SEMIC.EU<br>
<br>
The SEMIC.EU event, scheduled for June 17, 2008 in Brussels, will feature<br>
the official launch of the SEMIC.EU website.<br>
<br>
In November 2007, the Semantic Interoperability Centre Europe (SEMIC.EU)<br>
opened its virtual doors to the public and can now be accessed through<br>
the new website www.semic.eu.<br>
The SEMIC.EU project aims to build a European platform for interoperability<br>
assets and services available to the public sector and its stakeholders<br>
in Europe, focusing on semantic - ie. content -interoperability.<br>
<br>
The communication platform will facilitate the creation of expert<br>
communities, and will provide a public web repository on semantic<br>
interoperability issues.<br>
